Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
Apparently on TS today saying rumour has it Moyes has chosen Pearce as his No.2. Pearce confirms nothing official but says "If West Ham approached me I would love to go and talk to them". Basically, please give me a job.

Not sure how I feel about this. Is it just another ploy by owners to soften the Moyes appointment?

David Moyes has confirmed the appointment of Alan Irvine and Stuart Pearce as his assistants at West Ham United.

The manager also hopes to confirm the appointment of Billy McKinlay – currently in a caretaker role at Sunderland – as a third assistant in the coming days.

The u23s are now training alongside the senior squad
Why oh why wasn't that happening b4. Moyes says he already has his (Blue) eyes (did that many make it into Elton John's top 20?! We should definitely be singing that at Watford !! and should make it Moyes' song😁!) on a couple. The academy is back!

He should follow the lead of the greatest manager ever .... Alan Latchley (Peter Cook character on Clive Anderson show in the 80s) who kidnapped the players wives and put them on a train to Cleethorpes with no return ticket.

As Latchley said, "the lads went mad Clive", "rage is an adrenalin inducing emotion and the next game the lads tore into the opposition"

Sorry, I miss that kind of satire and might work ? ;-)

I will certainly be giving him a chance. I think he has a better situation here than the other clubs he has been at. The issue we have seems to be mostly a lack of effort - something pretty easily addressed.

Be interesting to see if he’s managed to light a fire under any of them.

Agreed Sir Alf, we must give the new 'management' a chance. The immediate future of our club is in their hands, good luck to them.

Let the hope in Alf and enjoy it. It's not like we haven't had plenty of practice at having our hopes crushed.

How much can one more false dawn/kick in the nuts hurt, anyway?

Lets see how we perform on Sunday. Ideally we get a result but a team that leaves nothing on the pitch over 90 minutes will be a big step forward regardless of the result ( which worst case would hopefully mean losing by less than 2 goals).

I also want to see a team that looks strong defending as a "team" and a midfield that presses and closes relentlessly. Like I say, if those kinds of things started happening its a step forward and results should pick up ( yeah I know this is West Ham and we could easily go 20 games getting wrongly awarded pens, red cards and disallowed goals against us).

I am underwhelmed but have foolishly allowed some hope to return ;-)

We don't be having any poor results under this regime, it's win at all costs. Any defeat means a week in the cooler.

How long before we have a poor result and people start moaning that the players are being overworked and look FATIGUED?

Pearce, although a nice bloke, is a fucking spastic, possibly pissed up. Some of the bollocks he comes out with as a pundit is laughable

And he looks like a homeless person

Hopefully his time doesn't come to an end with us in the bottom 3 and him looking like he wants to hang himself.

I fancy he'll do okay.

You lot have got so much energy ! We are stuck with this lot now so may as well get behind them. It is now as clear as day to us all that the owners did a number on us over the move and need to go. I'm happy supporting the team and singing anti Sullivan songs every game. Particularly the televised one's.

I think a good start will be to be better than the Moyes of his last 50 odd games?

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
We're bound to compare WHU under Bilic to WHU under the new regime. I bet that Moyes never reaches the heights of the Bilic first season but on the other hand I expect him to do better than the Bilic of the last eleven PL games.
